One-platform, minimal clicks, one streamlined storytelling journey
Written Stories
We know video stories are one of the most powerful ways to engage your audience, but we also understand that many people feel more comfortable sharing their story in writing. That’s why Soapboxx’s written feature sends users on a journey where they can type their story, and then be gently encouraged to record that story on video. It’s a completely self-directed process where users feel empowered and safe to share, and respected in their decision to end the journey whenever they prefer.

How it works
Send your supporter to a story prompt via link just like you would when asking them to record a video or submit a photo on Soapboxx. No account or app required. From there they will have the option to decide how they would like to submit their story– in text, or by recording a video.
If they choose to write their story in text, they will receive an invitation after submission to record their story on video. The platform automatically converts their written story into a teleprompter-style script, allowing them to comfortably read and record their story on camera if they choose.
Ethical storytelling is rooted in meeting your storytellers where they are. In today’s political and cultural climate, not everyone wants — or is able — to be on camera. By giving supporters the option to choose how they share their story, you build trust, accessibility, and stronger relationships.
Why it works
Giving supporters the option to either write or record their story significantly increases the likelihood that they will feel comfortable completing the request.
The automatic follow-up invitation to record helps guide storytellers through a natural storytelling process. Writing first allows them to organize and fully express their thoughts. Recording afterward helps them refine their message and create a more engaging and persuasive story.
By offering written storytelling, you increase participation while also improving content quality to give you not only more stories but stronger stories.
